Services now available: Pregnancy tests, Rapid Tests for HIV and Hepatitis C are available on a walk-in basis, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Cost is based on a sliding fee scale and we accept most forms of insurance.

BCMH is a health care program linking families of children with special health care needs to a network of quality providers and helps families obtain payment for the services their child needs.

Eligible children are ages newborn through 21 years, permanent residents of Ohio and under the care of a BCMH-approved doctor. Some eligiblie conditions include AIDS, Cancer, Congenital Heart Disease, Diabetes. Hearing Loss, Scoliosis and Spina Bifida.

The Morrow County Health District is the local distribution site for the Ohio Buckles Buckeyes Child Safety Seat Program. The Ohio Buckles Buckeyes program is made possible through the purchase of child safety seats by the Ohio Department of Health. Ohio law mandates the fine money from violations of Ohio’s Child Restraint Law be used for occupant protection education and to provide car seats to families who cannot afford them.

Morrow County Health District programs work to prevent the emergence and spread of communicable diseases such as salmonellosis, influenza, hepatitis, HIV, and tuberculosis. This includes collecting and analyzing disease reports, studying risk factors, protecting exposed individuals and families, developing guidelines for disease prevention and control, and planning and responding to public health emergencies involving communicable diseases.

Lead can damage nearly every system in the human body, and has harmful effects on both adults and children. Lead is a serious environmental public health threat to children in Ohio. Morrow County Health District, in collaboration with the Ohio Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (OHHLPPP), provides case management services for children with a lead level of greater than 5.

A newborn home visit is an opportunity for families to get peace of mind and ask in-depth questions about the health and safety of their new baby. The visit is conducted by a public health nurse who is specially trained in working with families with new babies. Newborn home visits are free and are provided soon after the baby comes home from the hospital.

The School Nursing Program supports the provision of quality health services in schools to promote student health and success (ODH, 2016). The Morrow County School Nursing Coalition, headed by Amy Briski, RN, is a collaboration between the school nurses of Mount Gilead, Highland, Cardington and Northmoor Local School Districts.
