Plumbing

Program Responsibility: The authority of the Morrow County Health District’s program extends over all commercial and industrial plumbing installations in the county. Please be advised that the Morrow County Health Department now contracts with the Richland Public Health to provide a commercial plumbing program in Morrow County. Please contact Richland Public Environmental Health office directly at 419-774-4520 for plumbing questions, permitting needs and inspection requests.

All plumbing contractors operating in Morrow County will still need to register at our office, located at 619 West Marion Road, Door B, in Mount Gilead. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. In order to register, plumbing contractors are required to complete an application, pay a $100 fee and provide a copy of a surety bond in the amount of $10,000. Annual registration is renewed prior to December 31st of each year. If you have any questions regarding registration, please contact our office at 419-947-1545 ext. 312.

Program Goal: The purpose of the plumbing program is to protect the public health and welfare by governing the installation, maintenance, testing and inspection of all commercial plumbing installed or operated under the jurisdiction of the Morrow County Health District. The plumbing program involves the following main components:

  • Sanitary collection of water-carried wastes
  • Protection of water supplies
  • Safety
